A border city in the North West of England, Carlisle is located approximately 70 miles north of Lancaster, just 20 miles north of Penrith on the M6. Carlisle Lake District Airport lies 5 miles to the northeast of Carlisle, with the Runway Protection Zone of its FRZ (Flight Restriction Zone) extending towards the centre of Carlisle. Being a hub for trains travelling both North to South and East to West, there are many train lines converging on the city, which must be taken into account when planning flights around the airspace, as Network Rail have their own regulations regarding drones around their property in addition to CAA regulations. While drone flights require greater planning and authorisation in and around restricted zones, this does not mean that we are unable to fly in these areas. Our trained pilots, alongside our experienced administrative team, will work together to gain the permissions to carry out work in the trickiest of locations!
