Drone Surveys & Inspection Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough is a large town in the North of England, on the southern bank of the River Tees, within North Yorkshire. With a population or 140,000 Middlesbrough is one of the larger towns of North Yorkshire, located approximately 36 miles south-east of Newcastle and 50 miles north of York and just north of the North York Moors National Park.  

Located entirely within the Durham Tees Valley CTR (Controlled Traffic Region), all drone flights within and around Middlesbrough will be carried out in Class D airspace and require clearance from Durham Tees Valley ATC prior to flight. In addition to this, Hartlepool Nuclear Power station also has an area of restricted airspace surrounding it which will need permission to operate in this area. This usually entails permission from the designated person on-site at the plant and then gaining permission from the CAA in order to carry out your drone operations. As this process can take some time, ensure that you leave plenty of time when planning your flight.

Local considerations, such as HMP Holme House, which has an FRZ up to 164ft AGL,  should be factored into your planning along with the usual concerns when flying around towns and cities such as congestion, travel networks etc. It is also important that rail networks should always be factored into your planning as Network Rail have their own regulations regarding drones around their property in addition to CAA regulations.

While drone flights require greater planning and authorisation in and around town centres, this does not mean that we are unable to fly in these areas. Our trained pilots, alongside our experienced administrative team, will work together to gain the permissions to carry out work in the trickiest of locations!
