Construction Time Lapse Providers

When deciding on a time-lapse service for your construction project, there are a variety of factors to consider in order that you make the right decisions and get the most effective solution for your budget/project.

There are a number of different considerations. These are determined by the results you require. Whether a single construction time lapse video delivered at the end of the build or ongoing images delivered throughout the duration of the project.

There are 5 main factors to consider when choosing your construction time lapse service.

1. What type of time-lapse are you looking for? e.g. One picture per day, delivered at the end of the project for showcasing the build on your website and social media. Do you want the option to Increase shooting intervals during important moments during the build process – concrete pour, etc? Or are you looking for a solution that delivers regular updates throughout the build and can be updated on a regular basis?

2. Image Quality: Depending on how you are intending to use your time-lapse footage will determine what image quality you require to be delivered, whether 720p, 1080p, 4K, 6K, or even 8K images taken by our onsite cameras. Many sites will be ok with basic 720p or higher 1080p for online and social media viewing, while your project may require 6K Panoramic images to ensure everything is captured in the highest quality and with the correct perspective ratio/angle to cover all aspects of your site.

3. Power Requirements: As your time-lapse system will be on-site for the entire lifespan of your project, we will ensure that all power requirements are taken into account to ensure continuous delivery of the project. This information is all gathered during the FREE site survey. 

4. Local / Cloud Storage Options: Local storage capacity you require will be determined by factors including image quality, shooting regime, length of project duration. Our site survey completed alongside our Project Deliverables Document will ensure that the best option is chosen for your project, ensuring the end results are fit for the purpose required, whether that be a local or cloud storage solution.
Options include live streaming cameras, local storage (accessed at the end of the project), access to live feeds, remote cloud storage (that allows access to all pictures taken on the project in real-time). 

5. Connectivity and Cloud Options: Connectivity, cloud services, and the features which can be accessed remotely vary greatly between systems and might determine which is most suitable for the demands of your project.

These features include:

Status reports – to help maintain the system and ensure that everything is working as it should.
Remote configuration – changes can be made remotely to the shooting schedule etc. ensuring nothing is missed and any alterations to the build schedule are factored in.
