Based on the Irish Sea coast of the UK, approximately 17 miles West of Preston and 50 miles south of Kendal, Blackpool is a busy seaside location and, as such, has a number of areas in which airspace is restricted. While Blackpool airport is the most obvious Flight Restriction Zone around the area, BAE Systems Aerodrome at Warton also covers a large part of the coastal region between Blackpool and Preston.
Other factors such as local train lines and, with Blackpool being a popular tourist destination, highly congested areas all require consideration.
While drone flights require greater planning and authorisation in and around restricted zones, this does not mean that we are unable to fly in these areas. Our trained pilots, alongside our experienced administrative team, will work together to gain the permissions to carry out work in the trickiest of locations!
