Drone Roof Surveys & Drone Roof Inspection London
Drone Roof Inspections & Surveys in London
Here at Drone Site Surveys, we enable the construction industry to work smarter by using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/Drones) to inspect, measure, and map areas without the need for time-consuming and expensive equipment hire. By having a drone survey across London, you negate the need for scaffolding, cherry pickers, or other ways of viewing your building or construction site at height. Many of our customers are particularly interested in a drone roof survey, as the roof is generally the hardest part of a building to inspect.
As a CAA approved drone company and a Construction Line Gold accredited business, we have undertaken 1000s of drone surveys across London and the Greater London Region.
Using the most modern drone inspection equipment we can provide images and video of your structures at incredible heights. All of our media is in super high resolution with images and video available up to 4K. We can then back these images with a report for you and your team to understand issues that require further invasive inspection.

London
London, the capital city of England and the largest in the UK with a population of approximately 9 million people. Located 55 miles north of Brighton, 80 miles northeast of Southampton, and 55 miles south east of Oxford, London stands on the River Thames in the South East of England.
The majority of the central London area falls within both the London CTR (Controlled Traffic Region) and the London City CTR, with numerous other restriction zones affecting drone flight planning. London Heliport and heli-routes across the city, restrictions over parks, and many other considerations mean that flight permissions and authorisations around London can be a daunting prospect.
With a number of prisons (HMP Belmarsh, HMP Wandsworth, HMP Brixton around the London area, each with No-Fly Zones in place between the surface and 164 AGL (Above Ground Level), to avoid the airdropping of nefarious articles to the inmates below, it is important to understand the logistics of your flight and the surrounding area.
Being such a populous area, and the nation’s capital city, the transport infrastructure is enormous around the region with both road and rail networks imposing their own demands on drone operations. Rail networks, in particular, should always be factored into your planning as Network Rail have their own regulations regarding drones around their property in addition to CAA regulations.
While drone flights require greater planning and authorisation in and around town centres, this does not mean that we are unable to fly in these areas. Our trained pilots, alongside our experienced administrative team, will work together to gain the permissions to carry out work in the trickiest of locations!

London City Council(s) Policies on Drone Usage
Licensing:
You may have heard some buzz about changing drone regulations. Indeed – from November 2019, it will be a legal requirement to register as a drone operator for all aircrafts over 250g. So, if you have the DJI Mavic Mini (249g – just one gram below), or any other lighter drone – you’re in luck. Otherwise, this applies for all drone flyers, regardless of whether you’re just flying recreationally.
You can register it with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), and complete an online safety test.
If you don’t and you’re still following all of the other regulations within the drone code, you may face fines of up to £1,000.
Regulations:
As a starting point of being an awesome drone flyer – have a look at the Drone Code and check out the top things to keep in mind. The main points are :
1 always keep your drone in sight
2 Stay below 400ft (120m)
3 Every time you fly, you must follow the manufacturer’s instructions
4 Keep 150feet (50m) away from people and properties
5 You are responsible for each flight
6 Stay away from airports. With tightening regulations, the distance to stay away is now 5km.
